I created this project using relief cut printing. This print depicts the religious symbol of the Sacred Heart, created by drawing a reversal of the image on a block of wood and carving away areas that weren’t a part of the image. The marks surrounding the image, also known as chatter, add texture to the image, and although it wasn’t in the initial design, it adds visual interest and that extra touch of personalization.
